Breaking the Chains of Poverty
A Vision for Transformation
Our journey began with a simple but deeply troubling observation: Christian children and young people were being caught in a cycle of poverty that was being passed from one generation to another.
We believe that breaking this cycle requires more than changing circumstances. We want to see a change in hearts, minds, and perspectives and we believe that true transformation can only happen through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
At the same time, we recognize that Christian youth need practical tools to live and thrive in a competitive society. Education is one of the most important tools for empowering young people to pursue opportunities, develop their potential, and contribute to their families and communities. But education without the Gospel is incomplete. Our desire is to see both: lives transformed by Christ and people equipped to serve and flourish in society.
2008 — The Burden Begins
When I started college in 2008, one observation deeply affected me.
Early in the morning, before the city had awakened, I would see young Christian boys working under the supervision of senior workers, cleaning and sweeping the roads.
They had brooms in their hands.
I remember thinking, “At this hour, they should have pens in their hands. And one day, their children should have pens in their hands too.”
That moment exposed something deeper than poverty. It revealed a cycle.
Children were growing up with limited educational opportunities and entering the same kinds of work as previous generations. The work was being passed from one generation to another.
The chain needed to be broken.
2014 — Six Students Take the First Step
Six years later, a small initiative was born.
In 2014, six students from a Bible study group came together with a desire to help fellow students who were struggling to pay their tuition fees.
It was a small beginning, but it became a significant step of faith.
One student who received this support was able to complete his master's degree. When he graduated, we celebrated with him.
His achievement encouraged all six of us.
We saw firsthand what can happen when someone is given an opportunity.
That experience strengthened our commitment to continue sponsoring students and investing in Christian education.
2021 — Understanding the Challenge
In 2021, we conducted a survey in one of the cities of Pakistan to better understand the educational situation among Christian families.
The survey gave us a clearer picture of the challenge.
In some Christian families, only the eldest child was given the opportunity to attend school. Younger siblings had never experienced school, while others had dropped out before completing their education.
For many, reaching higher education was almost unimaginable.
Behind every statistic was a child with potential, but without the opportunity to develop it.
We realized that sponsoring individual students was important, but the challenge was much larger.
If the cycle was going to be broken, we needed to think beyond individual scholarships and address the wider needs of families and communities.
2023 — From School Dropout to Opportunity
In 2023, our focus expanded to school dropouts—both men and women.
For many who had left school, returning to the formal education system was difficult. We therefore began working toward another pathway: equipping people with practical skills that can create opportunities for a better future.
We believe that skills can open doors.
They can increase confidence, create opportunities for employment, restore dignity, and help individuals contribute to their families.
Our goal is not simply to help people survive poverty.
Our goal is to help create pathways out of poverty while pointing people toward the hope and transformation found in Christ.
2024 — Equipping the Church
In 2024, God placed another burden on our hearts.
We recognized that sustainable transformation requires strong Christian leaders who can teach, disciple, encourage, and equip others.
Education and skills are important, but the Church also needs leaders who are biblically grounded and prepared to serve their communities.
With this vision, we initiated a Preaching Internship Program to help develop emerging Christian leaders through training, mentorship, and practical ministry experience.
We believe that when the Church is equipped, it can become better equipped to serve, disciple, and transform its communities.
The Road Ahead — Empowering Women
Our vision continues to grow.
We recognize that women play a vital role in the strength and future of families and communities. Many women have also been denied educational opportunities.
As part of our future plans, Adult Literacy Programs are in the pipeline.
Through adult literacy and other empowerment initiatives, we hope to create opportunities for women to develop skills, grow in confidence, and participate more fully in their families and communities.
We see this not simply as an educational initiative, but as another opportunity to break cycles that have existed for generations.
Today — The Vision Continues
What began with a simple observation in 2008 has developed into a growing vision. A broom became a reminder of a cycle that needed to be broken.
A pen became a symbol of opportunity. A tuition scholarship opened a door.
A master's degree demonstrated what opportunity could produce. A survey helped us understand the wider challenge.
Skills training began creating new pathways for those who had dropped out of school. The vision for adult literacy is opening a future pathway for women.
And the Preaching Internship Program is helping build the capacity of the Church to raise and equip Christian leaders.
Our journey is not simply about education. It is about transformation.
We want to see Christian youth equipped to compete and contribute in society. We want to see families empowered to pursue a better future. We want to see women given opportunities to learn and grow. We want to see churches equipped with capable and faithful leaders.
But above all, we want to see lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Because education can open a door, skills can create an opportunity, and leadership can strengthen a community—but the Gospel gives us the foundation, hope, identity, and purpose upon which true transformation is built.
Our dream is to see the next generation inherit opportunity instead of poverty, education instead of exclusion, skills instead of hopelessness, and a Christ-centered faith that shapes every area of life.
The chain can be broken—one life, one family, and one generation at a time.
